Our Mission
To protect the health of pets within the Pet Retail Industry. To promote freedom of choice: Shop or Adopt.
Why We Created P.U.P.P.I.
Governor Hochul recently signed legislation to end our industry as we know it. Several ethical pet retail businesses have been unfairly targeted and tarnished by bad actors in our businesses. Our coalition is here to fight for our survival and to tell elected officials that a few bad actors should not harm an entire business sector.
Outreach
P.U.P.P.I. members are actively meeting with elected officials at all levels of government to engage them on the best path forward for the pet retail industry. Passage of recent legislation damaging our industry as we know it will cause inflationary pressure on pet prices, an illegal market, and a lack of enforcement from that ill-thought-out law with no positive effects on animal welfare.
